Are you an experienced Medical Secretary/Administrator with a passion for providing exceptional customer service? Our client is a well-known and highly respected group of Orthopaedic Surgeons. They are seeking a Medical Secretary/Administrator to complement their team. Located in Wantirna, this is a busy and responsible role requiring previous experience in medical. The key to success is having the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the complexities of working for a busy surgical practice. Your excellent organisational skills together with a team player approach and desire to maintain good working relationships with all Clinic and Hospital personnel will ensure a successful placement.

Your duties will include:

  • Manage a busy phone line in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically.
  • Make, altar, and confirm appointments.
  • Management of Genie medical software.
  • Account Management – consult billing and receipting.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records.
  • Liaise with patients and their families.
  • Liaise with surgeons and other health professionals.
  • Scan and file documents.
  • Practice duty of care including meeting practice standards and accountability.
  • Always maintain patient and practice confidentiality.
  • Any other administrative duties as required.

The candidate we are looking for should possess the following:

  • Experience using Genie software (preferred).
  • Scheduling patient consultation appointments.
  • Previous experience working in an extremely busy practice.
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Demonstrate & articulate friendly customer service with an understanding of the importance of client confidentiality.
  • Highly organised and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Be capable of working very well as part of a team or autonomously.
  • Manage incoming & outgoing correspondence.
  • Great communication & interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of Medicare items
  • Maintain professional attire standards.
